HLTAID008 Manage First Aid Services & Resources describes with the skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in the workplace.
Specifically, the course is designed for people employed as Occupational First Aiders, normally on a site with more than 100 employees and/or has a First Aid Room.
The unit applies to workers in nominated occupational first aid or management roles.

Location:
We run our classes at the CWA hall, 159 Bettington Street, Merriwa NSW 2329 or in the workplace

Course Duration (face to face)

  • Face to Face – 7 hours (minimum) – full face to face course
  • Refresher training – 5.5 hours (minimum) – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates.

 

Work Placement Arrangements
No work placement will be required as part of this course.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

What happens at the course?

Assessment Activities
Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:

    • Performance tasks – The assessor will observe you demonstrating the following:
      • Determining workplace first aid requirements
      • Completing workplace risk assessment/response plan
      • Establishing and maintaining workplace first aid facilities
      • Maintaining workplace first aid records
      • Reviewing the provision of the first aid in the workplace
    • Theory assessment
      • A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions. You must complete all assessment questions.
